For quite a while I've been wanting to buy this software, but I still very confused. Maybe you could help answer my questions:

1. If I purchase SCAL, can I still use my cricut cartridges with DS?
2. I have both the little bug and Expression, can I use SCAL with both bugs?

The quick answer to both your questions is YES. The newest version of SCAL works with the newest firmware from DS 1.3/2.3, so you can use DS with your carts and still be able to cut with SCAL and you can use it with all 3 bugs, original, Expression and the new Create.
