Looking for pen/pencil box file??

Post by glassguy »

Hello, I am new to the board, but I am trying to find a pen/pencil box cut file (svg) One that measures about 3/4 to 1 inch square X 6-7 inches long (high?). Folding locking flaps on each end.... I hope I have made this request right. I make wood lathe turnd pens and pencils and I would like to make my own boxes (cases?) Thank you for taking the time to help me and looking....
I hope you have a good day

Thank you very much!! I also did not try to cut but I think it will work just fine! How would I erase the score lines if need be? (if that was necessary?) I assume it will just cut the outer line? I have another program on my laptop called "Inkscape". While I have never used it, am I able to make small edits to this file with that? (I know I am pushing it  --- you have been most helpful so far and I appreciate your time very much! Again I thank you!! Have a good day....

You have come to the right place to begin to learn to use scal and Inkscape too. There are tutorials on the homepage for CE for scal and in the board index you will find some for Inkscape. There are helpers here for both programs, so come back and ask for help as needed. There are also many tutorials for both on other sites and youtube videos.

Your pens are just AWESOME!

I resize my photos using Paint that comes with my computer. I open Paint and then open my picture .jpg, and then click on resize and set the top number lower with the proportions box checked. For large photos like these you would have to go to perhaps 20 or 30 for the top number. Hope this helps you. But I like them large in this case..to see the detail in the pens.

Thank you very much!! I got to cut some this morning and they are perfect!! Good job in designing this for me. What program did you use (or can you please point me in the direction) to design them? I "guessed" at the scoring of the closing flap, (and come to the conclusion I am a poor quesser!!) but seem to have a system down now. I rsized different files for different style pens and that worked great. I may try it for wine stoppers etc. Again I thank you for taking the time to help me out.... VERY appreciated!! Hope you have a good day.
