I still use CDS and shape carts.
I just love them and I prefer them for shapes.
I use SCAL for fonts. I love that part of SCAL
Don't really want to bother with creating things in Inkscape.
I have not updated my CDS and firmware so I can continue using SCAL for fonts.
This new software sounds interesting but is PC going to allow it to connect to the Cricut?
I'm sorry but...
Re: I'm sorry but...
I want more information on this new software, it definitely sounds interesting. Provocraft can't tell me what software I put on my computer, their only control is to use their warranty threat and I am long done with the one year warranty. PC just needs to decide how much of their time and resources they are willing to spend on recreating drivers instead of improving their own product.
Re: I'm sorry but...
scrappy_happy_moms,
What software, machine, etc. are you talking about? I don't understand what you are saying. Is this a new piece of software not owned by Provo nor SCAL? Is this a different machine from Cricut?
Please enlighten!

Re: I'm sorry but...
From what I gathered from what I copied and pasted there is that PC is working with another company (not sure if its craft robo, wishblade knk ) who knows they all might be the same company... I don't keep up on that sort of thing... but I guess they are working on software for the cricut. So they can offer what todd has already offered us. Hes come a long way to get us this great product! I don't care what they come out with.... I am hooked on SCAL.
My opinion... they eventually planned on comming out with something similar to SCAL... the usb port on the back of your bug proves that.... they started with the cartridges, then added... DS, the juke box soon they are offering a solar powered battery, blades for thicker papers, a new housing unit for that... They are trying to make the most out of their money before offering us something that does everything. But Todd has beat them to it and they are pissed. They shouldn't be pissed they should feel stupid!
I have tried contacting PC several times due to different issues and it took them forever to get back with me... with Todd and scal... the same day. The customer support means a lot to me.
I agree that Todd might not be saying anything because there are trolls out there searching for PC I'm sure. If thats what he is doing then good for him. Instead of posting your questions here ... why not email him personally.

Re: I'm sorry but...
I love SCAL and I still do use CDS so I'd love SCAL to come up with an update so I can use my new cartridges in CDS, but, if that never happens, I still think the payoff of being able to cut any font I like, and use and cut with inkscape outweighs the exclusion of new cartridges in CDS. I'd like to hear an update too though.

Re: I'm sorry but...
I don't think that Todd has anything to be apologetic about. As far as I'm concerned, he has created a wonderful piece of software that works perfectly and allows me to use my Cricut in so many more creative ways! The later versions of CDS have been specifically programmed to block his product, and keep people endlessly feeding money to PC for more over-priced cartridges. Complain to them, not to him!

I am forever grateful to Todd for a great product. not to mention that I wanted a code to order it asap and he gave me one. VERY nice, try to get PC to give you even a 2% discount just cause you ask!
The trolls are out.. if you email him he gets back to you asap. He probably isnt posting becasue he dosen't want info out there that could help them.

Re: I'm sorry but...
I'm still happy with SCAL. I appreciate and will appreciate any more updates that Todd can and will do. I won't buy anymore cartridges until Provocraft gets it together and stops trying to block SCAL.
