Re: Cruise Ship silhouette

Theresa, dunno. I drew this one in Inkscpape just to play with rhinestones and SCAL2 did the rhinestones pretty well except for two portholes and one smokestack. I was able to break apart and move individual stones using the nudge tool without anything bad happening. Then I noticed that only the elements that I had broken apart were RED (which usually indicate that they will cut). So I broke apart all of the other elements and now they are all red and when I "preview" all of the stones are red. This may be the answer but see if your design had some of the same issues.

I can't cut it since I don't have a Cricut anymore, but maybe someone can try it.

Maybe some Rhinestone expert will show up and help us :P. I know NOTHING about stone sizes so I just used the default 8.

Never cut a rhinestone pattern before...but I liked this so much...I had to try it to see if it would cut. I had to Select All and Merge. Previous to that...it said "cutting complete" and it never started. SOOOOOOOO, I said, what the????, and started messing with the controls...and bingo. I always thought the round red circles meant cut, too, but when I merged it changed them back to rhinestone appearance. Anyway...it cut :), and I like it...might just get a t-shirt :)...oh, shoot, I guess I need a rhinestone setter, too :P These are tiny holes on plain cardstock, not the proper material.

Thanks Gj, this should help a lot of the members who DO do Rhinestones. I'll have to bookmark this as Cruise Ship Silhouette will not be a good title for Rhinestone problems. Maybe a Moderator can move just the comments concerning NOT CUTTING Rhinestones would help in SEARCHES. :P

Thank you Susan for the design. i like it. And gj1, maybe that is the problem with all mine and not cutting. I need to do merge first. Gonna give it a try this weekend. I want to do these so bad but always have an error. Can't wait for the time to play.

P.S. Ohhh Susan, as far as stone sizes go, 10 is supposed to be the most popular but when i bought some i got 16. Even at 16 they are tiny so i can't imagine fooling with 10. thanks all for your help.
