Inkscape to Scal off center help
I have SCAL 1.016 and am using inkscape. I am trying to combine text and an svg file. I converted them both to a path and centered the text on the svg image. When I import into scal the text is no longer centered. I am sure this is something easy I'm missing but please help thanks!

Although I dont have scal 1, but you should be able to select all in scal and center it yourself with center buttons in the appearance box, I dont think just because you are centering it in inkscape is going to mean that it is center in scal.

I can't find the center option in scal 1, it must be an update offered in 2. Oh how I wish I had found a version 2 instead of 1

Did you use Object/Group in Inkscape? SCAL1 doesn't like Object/Group and will misplace or distort things when it is used. Open your file in Inkscape, select your artwork, then from the menu: Object/Ungroup. You can also do this by right clicking on your artwork. Use Control A to select all then look at the message bar at the bottom of the Inkscape window to make sure that Group is not listed.
I'm guessing that you have Ink7 or Ink48. It will automatically put each letter into a Group when you use Path/Object to Path, so you will need to Ungroup each letter. If you don't want to move individual letters it is easier to use Path/Union to convert fonts to Path since it won't Group the letters. HTH
