HELP- Can I save my firmware before resetting my Cricut E?

Hi- I hope someone can help me. The blade on my Cricut E has been dragging accross the page and making tiny cut marks when the blade moves to a different section of the mat. I have changed the blade and it still happens. I read that resetting the machine will probably help. However, if I reset my machine my firmware will go back to 2.0. I currently have firmware 2.32 and I don't want to lose the ability to use SCAL. I only use my machine with SCAL. Is there a way to save the firmware I currently have and re-install if after resetting my E? If not, does anyone know where I can download an older firmware version that will still let me use SCAL? resetting the cutter does not change the firmware to my knowledge.

Also, you could try putting the pressure to the middle or lower and raising the blade depth.
Make sure the blade holder is in straight and screw is tight.

Maybe take out the blade and make sure pieces of paper are not making the blade stuck in a more outward position.

I have SCAL2 version 2.044 and Vista. I tried going to the post you mentioned, but took me to a blank page with an icon. Is there another link you can post? I apprecaite the help, Diane

Just don't plug it in to Cricut Sync or let it update if it asks you! I did and now my expression won't work with SCAL
