Yeah I would like to find someone who has posted their setting for ECAL as well. I am going to write them down for future reference. I would love to know their blade settings, pressure and speed setting for many different materials cut with the Sizzix Eclips. I will admit my first cut with Ecips on vinyl did not go too well. I had blade at 1 and pressure was set to what ECAL picked for vinyl. The cut did not cut through enough to weed the designs.....basicly wasted an entire 6x12 sheet. Then I upped the pressure thinking that was the answer and that was total disaster. Think I went to 3. The blade pulled up the letters as it cut. So I then went to about .08 on blade and back to ECAL selected vinyl setting and it cut well. Weird.....went from a 1 to .08 and it cut better. That is kind of why I would love to see some setting before I cut other stuff. I did cut shrinky dink with no issues too. used a blade set at 2 (I think) and picked the ECAL setting for cutting shrink plastic and did a triple pass. THat setting worked well.

The settings in the preferences area are outlined in this topic further up in the responses. That was a direct response to the person with the specific problem they were having and I just played around to find the setting for them.

In general, I am finding that for most of the pre-sets in eCal for the materials, if I set the speed down a little I see improvement.
Pressure can be adjusted in both the software, but also don't forget your blade housing. Mine is generally at "3", but you might have to change based on the material.

I haven't cut much vinyl and from the posts of others, it seems that all vinyls do not cut the same. It would be nice if there were a place to start consolidating the settings others have used for reference (almost like the cutter comparisons diagram that is on a blog), but other than that....it's pretty much about learning your machine and what you typically cut and keeping track of those settings.

vinyl blade depth is a two
scrapbook paper is a two
construction paper blade depth is a 3
light cardstock number 3
heavy cardstock is a 4 (exspecially the kind with glitter or raised lines)

all the other settings for speed and pressure is in ecal and work great. I havent had the blade set any higher than four but with chip board you would have to use probably five or six.

hope this helps

sorry wasnt aware of new blade holders that dont click into place, mine clicks into place.
