IMHO the Imagine is a rip off. No you cannot use Scal, MTC or Cricut design studio with it. It only works with Cartridges or the Gypsy. You have to have a gypsy in order to weld or use other editing features, So add 200-300 bucks for a gypsy to your $500 Imagine, add the cost of carts and more carts...

I think Provo made sure that this machine will not work with any computer run software. You can't even use their Design Studio software with it. It only works with carts and the Gypsy, and if you don't have a Gypsy your SOL when it comes to design features like welding, etc.

It's awesome Todd. I've done it in Funtime and inkscape as well. It's such an easy process in MTC.

Hi Anne, To really answer your question--no your can't do this with SCAL or MTC. The only program your can cut from is CDS-Cricut Design Studio. And not to leave you misinformed MTC does illegally copy CDS SVG, it does allow you to back-up the carts that you already own and you will still need CDS. ...
