You must have the cartridge inserted into the cricut for design studio to actually cut your design. You can look at cartridges that you don't own but you cannot cut them.

Found it, thank you. I am a newbie - only just bought cricut and scal 2. I do, however, have tons of sizzix dies. If there is a die that I can convert to a svg file for anyone, let me know and I will give it a try.

According to the cricut cutting guide produced by AboveRubiesStudio.com the correct setting for Bazzil Card Stock is Blade depth 5, Speed 5 and Pressure 4. The other paper was not listed. Hope that helps.
