Cricut powers off when using scal

Have had expression for 2 months and was working fine with SCAL, all of a sudden when I try to cut with scal, cricut powers off and spits mat out. It works fine with cartridges. Anyone else have this problem or know of a fix. Thanks in advance for your help

Sorry, I've never heard of this. Very odd that the Cricut turns itself off.
I'd suggest getting the trial version of Design Studio and try cutting something with the one cartridge it will let you use. See how the Expression behaves with DS.

sounds like the same problem I am having which has never been solved.... it seems as though the cricut momentarily loses its power and switches off but switches straight back on again which makes the mat eject and the cut freeze..... I had some success using an older firmware but recently this has started happening again.... I really am at a loss as to what to do about it....
