I can't get my image svg to import into scal

I have searched this forum for the answer and can't find the solution. I made an image using a portrait to cut and use on a tile. I did everything I thought right and it is now an svg file, but every time I try to import into scal there is just a blank box where the image should be. What am I doing wrong. Please, any help is appreciated.
Thank you so much.

I don't think you said what program you used to create it but if Inkscape you may need to open the file and check bottom of the page to see if there are any elements you haven't converted to a path or sometimes elements are grouped together and one is an ellipse, etc. I've had that happen when I neglected to convert all my elements with the Object to Path button.

Hello, I am using Ink, and I created an svg image out of a portrait to cut with vinyl and place on a tile.
Everything I have done is the same as all my previous work. I went up to View then Outline mode and there are other lines in the image, so there has to be another layer that is not being seperated. Since I only chose 2 colors in the Trace Bitmap box to seperate, my finished image is all black but there must also be a background I can't get to. Do you know how to get there? I think this is my problem.
Tha nks again,

That may be the problem...you're welcome to send it to me and I can look at it later...I have to work for a couple of hours this evening.

Did you Ungroup your trace in Inkscape? You might not need to if you are using SCAL2, but you do need to with SCAL1. Also, are you using Ink46 or Ink47?
