Recovering a saved file - Help!

I had a saved project (scal). I wanted to paper piece some of it, so I deleted the parts I didn't want to cut. While cutting the paper came loose so I pressed stop on the cricut and cancel on the computer. Everything froze up. Had to quit SCAL though Control Alt Delete for it to end. Had to shut down for it to reopen. Then when I reopened my saved file - only the one thing I had on the mat was there. I HAD NOT saved over it. I was wondering if anyone knows any way of getting that file back. Of course I had not backed up. Would system restore bring it back? I was thinking I could go to yesterday and restore, but I don't know much about that and wondered if it would even bring the file back. I even tried to re-create the same file, but of course the sizes don't match up and I've tried cutting about 5 times with no luck.

I hope someone can help me. Thanks!! :(

It sounds like your file 'saved' on shut down.......... hmmmm..... better contact Todd (SCAL software designer) to find out if this is a "bug" in the program. As far as recovering your file, there is probably a way to do it but I better to let someone else answer to the technicalititiea of that process.

There is a way to reboot your computer to a previous date but I am not sure how to do it but maybe you could google and find instuctions and then you would have your file back.

Typically restoring your computer to a day before or another date only affects software that you have installed or uninstalled, not individual files. If it did affect individual files, it would be an aweful program.

You can look in your temporary files and see if you have it there. Oh don't you just hate it when this happens? You didn't by chance email it to anyone did you? If you did it would be in your sent emails.
