half moon words

how do I do a welcome half circled shape for a sign? in inkscape I am lost to this..Then I have to cut it out in cricut cutter. PLEASE help me

Type your text in Inkscape and make your circle. If you want your words on the outside of your circle, you can select both the text and the circle, and from the menu Text/Put on path. If you want the text inside the circle, flip the circle horizontally. Either way, after you get the text spacing how you like it, select the text, from the menu Path/Object to path. Delete the circle. See this post for more information.
