Hi

I have been trying to complete lesson 1 on the BlueRobot site and for some reason I can not get the tiles to generate like the demonstration. They come up all over the place.

Could someone please tell me what I am doing wrong?

Thanks so much
Cathryn

I haven't seen Susan's tut, but I can tell you that when you get different results from someone else's step by step in Inkscape especially it is usually because your tool settings and/or preferences are different from that person's. If you can read the settings on Susan's then set yours to match. If not, fiddle with the settings and see what you get, then delete and try again until you get the hang of what the different settings are doing. Also check your preferences and try different settings there. File>inkscape preferences>clones.

See if entering under "symmetry tab"... per row, shift y = -100%; ....per column, shift x=-100%
At least that is what you need for radial clones to line up ;)

woo hoo! happy to help, it's about time I have learned (written down enough) that I can actually give some advice on here

there are a lot more interesting tips in the help section of inkscape-- and I was impressed that the included tutorials weren't intimidating at all. :)
