An idea for an update to the SCAL

One thing I think would be great (even though this program is the greatest!) is if we were able to see what our font looks like when we go through our fonts in our library. When using Inkscape, when you click on the name of the font you can see what it looks like.. it would be great if we could do that with the SCAL program....

I like this idea too. It might be a good idea to also list this in the Wishlist forum to ensure it gets noticed. We saw lots of improvements on this latest update that we had requested and suggested in the Wishlist section. :)

SCAL has a Shapes Table and when you click on a font name it will change to show the font design. That is how I find the placement of dingbats in different fonts.

Thank you for that info. I did not know that...and i was typing in each letter to find something. What a pain. So, this is great information....

Stupid question.....where is the Shapes Table? I have Library, Properties and a box that displays the font or shapes. Is that one the Shapes Table? If I click Window>Shapes Table nothing extra appears.

Thanks!

Yes, when you click on a new font, the font style will show in that table. When you click on the dingbats, it will show in that table also. When I want to type a dingbat in Inkscape, I load the dingbat in SCAL first, find out what key to use (find where it is located on the table, choose one of the letter fonts to show what letter to use) and then go back to Inkscape.
