What has happen?

I have starting useing my CE and every thing has been working fine untill tonight.
When i started tonight now it says USB DEVICE NOT RECOGNIZE i have changed my usb cord and still mot working.
The only thing that i have done differant is to try to use my 12x24 mat.Can someone explain this to me? Was i to change anything on my CE I changed my mate size and i was just trying to cut a shape.Thanks

I was just thinking about purchasing SCAL software but was doing some research on it and saw on a couple of websites that as of March 21, 2009 Cricut updated the firmware (which I haven't checked yet) and now the SCAL software doesn't work anymore. I was browsing thru the SCAL boards and noticed a lot of problems since then with the Cricut not working and freezing up. Is this true and if so, has craft edge come up with a solution. I'd like to try to find out before I spend $75 on the software. HELP!!!!
