How to change file to SCAL

How do I change a font/shape file from internet to use with SCAL, I am a new user on SCAL - thanks!
Fonts don't have to be changed. If they are loaded on your computer, they are ready to use in SCAL. The steps you use to load downloaded fonts on to your computer will depend on whether you use Mac, Windows XP, or Vista.
Unless your shape is in svg format it has to be converted (vector) or traced (bitmap) in Inkscape. The steps for that depend largely on the type of image. There are many tutorials we can point you to depending on exactly what you want to do and what kind of computer you have.
