Craft Edge

I'm new to scal and would like to know how to change a jpg file into a svg using inkscape. I can't get it into inkscape to change it. I don't know inkscape and use only paint shop pro 7 to edit in. The image dl file is in a choice of 4 and I don't know which on to pic. I only know jpg's and gifs. thanks for any help. I can't wait to start creating with my cricut!

I have several simple tutorials on my Blog. I use Photoshop and convert .jpg regularly.

Misty, you will def want to check out susan's tutorials for converting jpgs to svgs later but there is no need to mess with bitmaps if the original is already in a vector formats, as in this case.
If you have a mac, dl the eps version, doubleclick and it will open as PDF, save it and import into inkscape.
If you have a PC, download the wmf version and use svg factory (http://www.svgfactory.com/) to convert it to svg and open it in inkscape.

The wmf files I have purchased on the net are ready to "open" in Inkscape and pull apart to get ready save and import into SCAL and to cut.

Oh cool, Grammy! I did not know Inkscape would open wmfs because they are not listed in the file types dialog under either open or import. That might be because I am using a Mac, though.
