i just got back into using my SCAL and i used to put it on blackout and it would not cut a double line. WELL that did not work. How do you prevent it from cutting the double line? I looked but can't find out thx Nancy

Blackout in SCAL should work. But the other solution would be to take the file into Inkscape and either separate the parts for cutting, or delete the extra lines. There are many tutorials out there, but here is one from SusanBluerobot

If you post the file I will take a look at it. Also, if you zoom in on it in Ink you will be able to grab the extra lines.

In Inkscape, you should be able to click on the object and click Object -> Ungroup. You may need to do that several times. Eventually, the object will separate and you can grab it with the mouse and drag it to another area on the screen. Repeat until all layers are separated. You can keep them separated if you want to have multiple colors, or you can delete all but one layer - the one that looks the best (some layers may be only a partial shape). It doesn't matter how close the lines are in Inkskape, you just ungroup until everything is separated, then you drag layers away. If you have trouble, post your file, or PM me and I'll take a look at it.

It wouldn't break apart because there was a break in one of the lines so that the inner and outer lines were actually part of the same circle. Do you want the fold lines removed too?
When you trace a bitmap that isn't perfectly black and white, try increasing the threshold to give a cleaner trace with less breaks and noise.

I left both parts of the box in. Just delete the one you don't want.
