I want to take a sentence that I typed in Inkscape and bend it into a circle. Would appreciate any instructions on this.

Just remember to convert the text to path (Path/Text to path) before you try cutting in SCAL.

Do a search of this forum for Arc, or Circle text and you will find several good ideas and instructions depending on what you want it to look like.
