How to shadow?

Hi! I tried to shadow last night by changing the property sizes but it came out just a tad bigger. The letters weren't any wider. How do you achieve proper shadow cutout with the SCAL program?

Inyour properties box, there is a pulldown menu under Style. Click on the arrow, select shadow, and voila!

And that Shadow has a box beside it with a default 3. You can change that up to 9 (I think it is) and that will make the shadow bigger if you prefer it. I usually use about 6 as it give a good size mat.
Just watch though that if you have typed out some text in normal and then copy it and use shadow that sometimes some of the letters on the shadow might sort of disappear. That I think is because of the amount of space it has to use. If that happens either reduce down the shadow number or else type the shadow first and then copy that and change the copy to normal.
Hope that makes sense.
