Anyone made the starbucks logo personalized name cups? Ive seen a few MTC blogs with them on them but nothing SCAL related to them. If you dont know what Im talking about I will send a pic but Im not sure if I post it here if I would get introuble b/c I didnt ask blog owners permission. Id really love to do this but Im wanting to know how to "warp" or "wrap" or "curve" or whatever you would call it in SCAL terminology, lol. Thanks for any input

you can always post a link to the blog post, then your not posting images so you don't need permission to re-post.
Scal does not have the warp feature yet (I hear it's coming soon) but you can do it in inkscape with the help of a small webpage Louise posted a while back.

You can do it in SCAL2 or 3, with text on path. (I don't remember when txt on path came into scal2 but the later versions should have it)
You will need
* an svg file of the logo I got one from here:
http://cutbyconnie.blogspot.com/2011/03 ... e-cup.html
The circles in this design are not perfectly sized. You will need to resize them so that they are exatly the same size width/height before doing type on path.
* Kay's tutorial on text on path:
http://cleversomeday.wordpress.com/2010 ... t-on-path/
This is what it looks like. I deleted the inner logo just not to use someone's file. I copied the big inner circle and pasted it. Then did the text on path using kerning to get the spacing right.
Works for my purposes.

If you can use Inkscape, even a little, ScrappyDew has a very nice video for text on path. Not just circles but polygons etc. A lot easier than type on path in SCAL.
Give it a go.

Here is a neat little "Starbucks" generator.
You can just type in your name and then trace the image!
