I am attempting to cut pink ribbons and want to cut within the ribbons and cut multiples of the same image. Do I need to duplicate each image to fit the page? If I add text to each image, will the cricut recognize this as well

Hi, you do not say which version of SCAL you have, but if it is any of the newer ones you would use the Duplicate function Object Duplicate.
this video is how to use the function to make columns and rows as many as you like although it only doscolumsn, but just add the rows as the video shows.

If you have an older version of SCAL there is a function called fill page, but I don't remember exactly where it is but is will fill the mat with the image of your choice. Hopefully someone will come along and remind us.
NOTE: it is always helpful and faster if you will include the version of SCAL.

You can certainly use the duplicate, but if you want to just fill the page with a particular image, you can go to copy, then paste (auto-fill), and it will fill the page with whatever image you have copied.

I'm reading the OP as they want to cut a ribbon shape but have cutouts INSIDE that ribbon
like the attached. not sure what KIND of ribbon is meant so image has both types I often use
a "pin" ribbon and a straight one.

this was done in inkscape but should be able to be done in scal3
