tracing and breaking apart of layers

I have just recently purchased a Silhouette cameo and Scal and I am having a terrible time with having an image break apart this image has multiple layers. What am i ding wrong, I have watch the trace image video several times and I can't seem to get it.

If you installed the software that came with your silhouette cameo there is a trace feature in there.. Very easy to use.... I use it all the time..
