Removing score lines...how to

HI. I have a file that I converted from a pdf to an svg using inkscape.
The file had a score line in it that I assumed inkscape would convert as a score line when it became an svg.
It did not. It is cutting instead of scoring.
I don't necessarily need it to score, I can do that on my own.
I do need however to figure out how to remove the line totally.
I am in both ecal and inkscape and have so far been unable to remove the line.
Any suggestions.

At this time I am waiting for an ok to post the file here.
It came from another board.
Thanks
Paula

I believe in both, you would just put a box around everything and go to Object and Break apart and then delete the line. You might then have to regroup things as you would like them to be.

Additional explanation in next post.

If break apart still leaves the line as part of a larger object then select the object, switch to the node edit tool, select the node at each end of the line and use Path->Split Path (E/Scal 3 function I think). The line should now be a separate object which can be changed to a score line or deleted

If you can post it, we'll take a closer look and see what we can do.

Another way to get rid of a line in an object is to add a shape (rectangle, oval maybe) or multiple shapes that will cover the line without crossing other lines or objects, highlight everything, and go path\union. Anything inside those added shapes will disappear.
