Blade cutting through design

I have the eclips and use ecal.
Windows operating system XP
I did use the machine about 2 weeks ago to make stars on sparkly paper without incident.
Today my blade started doing an extra cut through my design.
It is happening on all designs, not just one.
Attached below is a sample.
I have cleaned out the blade housing.
I have searched the forum and don't see anything under eclips.
I did find a few posts similar, but not exactly the same.
Any suggestions.
Easter is tomorrow and I would love to use my new machine to make cards.
Thanks,
Paula

Additional info.
When I did the laser preview I could not see it do do the cut.
However when I did the actual cut, what happened was....
It cut the second item on the layout first,
Then went to the first item.
Then when it passed by the second one on the way down to cut the forth item, the needle dropped and dragged it down to the third thing it was going to cut.,
Make sense?
Paula

Temporary fix.
Only cut one image at a time. So, lots of cutting and pasting, but no more extra cut.
Hope someone can help me with the prob!

Do you have the most recent update. Make sure you do. In one of the very early versions there was a slight problem with this if I recall.

O.K. -- next thought is there were some issues with the original blade housings. I too would suggest contacting Sizzix customer service. Do so by email as they respond quicker that way and prefer this method as it helps them keep track as they try to help you troubleshoot issues.

Also, if you set the pressure up higher for your glitter paper, make sure you turn it back down (or lower it). It will make those extra cuts if you have you pressure up too high. Just a suggestion. If it doesn't work, you'll need to contact craftedge. Good luck!

Play some with the settings, I had this using the standard settings for heavy cardstock in ecal, when I played some with the settings on the blade holder and the
pressure and the speed and used my own settings for heavy cardstock I never had the problem again (knock on wood).
