Still haven't gotten my cutter, but have been trying to make some things to cut. I am going to try to post a flower shaped card I made. I hope I did it right. I guess I will know after my cutter comes. If anyone wants to try to cut it and let me know how it works out... I did not put in the score line yet.

WHOA BABY...this one has got A LOT of nodes! Funny, I should look. I was making a shadow cut of it to make the card more firm and happened to put the node tool on the whole image. What program are you designing in? I don't think it is SCAL.

I just selected it all and did a Path Simplify and it went from about 1600 nodes, as I recall to just over 100.

If you did in Inkscape, you can do the same thing. Path - Simplify and it gets rid of those extra nodes. Glad you are designing. It makes things much more fun when you learn how to design your own files.

Thanks guys! This is just the input I was counting on from the pros! I will simplify. Any more advice for a newbie?

I would not have cut this without simplifying, just too many nodes on it before.

You are so wonderful for posting these pics so I can see how they look. Kinda hard designing when you aren't really sure what you are doing! Thanks so much!

Thank you for this. I really like it. Designing gets pretty addictive, doesn't it?
