I am new to inkscape and have alot of learning to do, but would like to know how to convert bitmaps, dingbats, fonts and other files to svg. I don't know one end of the program to the other...am I thick or what!

I have tried to import images but when i have gone to the folder on my pc where I know they are nothing shows up in the box. What am I doing wrong?

Please help!

You have to type what you want in INK, select it, Path>Object to Path, then save.

You need to learn how to trace bitmap and then break apart for most things you want to convert.

There are lots of tutorials you can follow. I have one of each on my blog if you want to give it a try. Since the nature of blogs is last in is first up so you'll want to go to the third on TRACE BITMAP and then work up to BREAK APART and maybe the newest one. http://papasuecreative.blogspot.com/sea ... /TUTORIALS

Let me know if it works for you
