I guess this is just as kosher as copying colorbook pages to redo in Inkscape and cut out in SCAL but I have been finding decorative rubber stamps on line where they have a great picture of the stamped item in their catalog. I copy it, do my thing in Inkscape and cut it out in SCAL. They turn out really good. I know, I am bad but am I the only one?

not the only one. I've been doing it for a few years to cut with my wishblade :).

I never share those particular files though.

if you can copy/paste it , you can trace it in inkscape & cut it! :)

I'm not sure if your comment was "tongue in cheek" or not. But my knowledge of copyright laws is that so long as you do not post the svg file for use by others I don't see a problem.

Copyright laws protect creative people who want to make a profit from their work! If you "give" away their work you are taking money out of their pocket. In the case of a rubber stamp they want to sell the stamp, they want you to use it and tell/show others so they will buy the stamp. You could show the work you did with the stamp (had you purchased it of course) and tell folks where to get it and so they too can do what you did with it.

Since you did not purchase the stamp, use it and enjoy it, but don't post it unless you buy it is my opinion.
