What file extensions will Inkscape take?

I am thinking about purchasing a disc with some dingbats on it, what file extensions does inkscape take and can they all be turned into an .svg file once saved in inkscape? Help

the link below is a list of extensions that can be opened. You should be albe to open almost all files in INK. Sometimes I have dingbats font files that won't open in INK and for those I find the letters/shapes I want, save as bmp from photo editing software such as PSE or the free Paint and then open in INK. INK does not always shoe all the fonts or at least mine don't.
