I am sorry I don't know a way but someone else may come along that does. However this is a way to view and print I believe.
Previous Post:I don't know if this will help but it is a free download and it has a print option but I have never used the print. I just use for viewing my svgs. Hope it will work for you.

This would take some time...not just instant or anything.

Open Scal and go to View, Grid, and put a check by Show Grid to get a solid white bg.

Now go to the SVG button and locate your files that you want to print an index of.

Open each one and size small(to fit several on an 8.5 X 11 sheet of printing paper) and use the T for text to write in the file names and then you should beable to print it out. It prints in solid colors...so if you want it to look just like this you have to use the snipping tool to take a picture or use print screen to take a picture and then print. It would be a project...but I might just do it!

If you have the SVG plugin for irfanview, you could do it as a batch. Under the file menu there is the option "batch conversion/rename". That's the only way I can think of without doing it one at a time with another program.

Personally, I think printing a catalog does not work well because we are always adding files to our collections and so then if they are alphabetical or even by theme..they will always be a bit out of date.

I think that printing pictures of projects made is okay...I save them 9 to a folder and then print wallet size on 8.5 X 11.

I think the other cataloging is best done on the computer somehow and then it just automatically updates.

I would love to hear if anyone has a GREAT system. I tried indexing names of files where the computer automatically sorts them...but here again...I let it go and now I don't know where I left off and so it is useless now.

HI

You can export your svg from SCAL as either a BMP or PNG image file.

Click on the File Menu
Select Export
The Save As window will appear. Select either BMP or PNG for your image type. Name the file and click save.

Hope that helps
Cheers

Craig

I have made png copies of my svg files by opening the svg in Inkscape, then under File drop down menu select Export Bitmap, and then select the export button. Be sure to tell it where to put the file in the file name section. I have it put the image on my desktop so that I can move it to a folder containing the svg file. I am using Windows XP and an older version of Inkscape. (I am not sure where to find the version number for Inkscape so I can't tell you which version I have)
I like to make a folder that contains both the svg file and the png file. Then I can open the folder containing both files, open the view drop down menu and select thumbnail. This shows the png picture. I am not sure if I explained this ok. I have most of my svg files in folders and then group the svg folders in separate folder under catagories such as animals, cards, cupcake wraps, etc. I don't know if this will work for you but it saves me a lot of time trying to figure out what svg file that I am looking for.
