when i try to open files in inkscape they will not open and i get this message

This application has requested the runtime to terminate in an unusual way
Inkscape encountered an enternal error and will close now

I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it but it is still not working it's sending me crazy
All help would be much appreciated

Try rebooting your computer and try Inkscape again. Sometimes when programs get into an unexpected state, if you reboot they straighten themselves out. If that doesn't work, make sure Inkscape is closed, open Task Manager and on the Processes tab, and click End Process on EVERY process that has Ink as the start of its name as though it would say Inkscape anything. Then try Inkscape. If that doesn't work, I don't really know what to suggest. HTH
