Does SCAL cut doodlebats? If so, which ones are good ones to download? Thanks.

I think for the most part that the doodlebats wouldn't cut well. You would definitely have to work with them in Inkscape to get them where you could cut them. The ones I have seen tend to look very much like a sketch with double lines etc. You could try it but I don't think it would work. Remember that SCAL needs to have a shape to cut *out* of the paper, not just to cut lines in the paper. If that makes sense.

Sorry wreed for ignoring you! ;) It's a dingbat font where the characters are "doodled" by hand. ScrapNFonts sells them. It's their word.

Just at first glance, I think some of them would cut fine. I'm looking at some of the flowers (not all of them!), borders with flowers or lace-like, maybe the frames (DB Geo Deco - Solid, maybe the outline). The DB Dad Monogram probably wouldn't, but some of the others might. The Ice Cream one wouldn't be that great - way too many pieces, you'd have a mess! ouuu, those Snowflakes might and they're cool! (oh, no pun!) The DB Cameo Frames and DB Cameos might but ok - maybe... DB Fancy Flourishes may have possibilities. Some of the DB Spring Fling might be ok - may have pieces to put together. The DB Butterflies would work, but I've uploaded a bunch of butterfly silhouettes that you can download for free and I wouldn't spend $2 for the doodlebats.

There's a lot that probably wouldn't cut well, lines don't connect and there's not a real shape - some have "sketched" lines where there are unconnected areas. Some of the samples are too small to tell. I wouldn't worry so much about the words because you can create them yourself with just regular fonts.

Overall, I think you'd be better off getting some of the dingbats for free and trying them. Houseoflime is one place that has great dingbats. Many other sites have been listed in these forums, do a search on dingbats. You can also google dingbats for more sights. These are free.
