Craft Edge

I bit the bullet and finally bought SCAL which I am terrified of...so fair warning that I will have lots of questions!
(I am diligently watching tutorials). I dowloaded Inkscape and imported a jpeg file to trace. With my first attempt when I went to upload it
to SCAL it said that the file wasn't valid. On my second attempt with a different image it wouldn't even let me trace it!
Any ideas????

You can bring a jpeg right into sCAL to trace...

It's #6 towards the bottom of the screen.

I found these tutorials very helpful when learning to use SCAL last year.

After you are done with the trace step, move the top image, then delete the original image.

I am guessing you maybe selecting the original image and not the second traced one.

I thought I was canceling the first image, I followed the videos and moved the second image over....I'll try again but it wouldn't even let me trace my second image at all...

Can you post one of your svg files that you made?

Are you using Inkscape 0.48? There is a bug in the trace preview with that version (it also won't work with SCAL1). I really recommend that you use Inkscape 0.47 instead. You can download Ink47 here. http://sourceforge.net/projects/inkscap ... /inkscape/

I will have to check which one I have, I downloaded it yesterday...as soon as I get home I will check it out!
