Card Sizes

Im going to make a christmas card, what are the normal card sizes? Is there a template or insructions to help me because i am so new to this.

I cut a piece of 8 1/2 by 11 inch cardstock in half, and then fold each piece in half and the cards are then what's known as invitation size. You can get envelopes at office supply stores.
This makes the best use of the supplies of paper. I go on the cheap and get all my color cardstock at WM in the office section.
I use cardstock...not paper..it cuts better, unless you buy more expensive stuff.
Unless you are going to make your own envelopes, it is best to look at envelope sizes and then make your cards the size you like.

If I'm doing a landscape type card I make mine 5x7...If I do it the other way.. I made a 4x6...

Half fold cards are more expensive to mail so keep that in mind. (folding an 8 1/2 x 11 in half)

make your cards fit the envelopes! it is more difficult to make envelopes.
If you are just starting out, then I suggest buying the blank cards and envelopes.
