Craft Edge

Can someone help me by telling me how to split an image in two? I have a soccer ball svg and I'd like to just divide it in the middle horizontally so that I can add the girl's name in between the top half of the ball and the bottom half. But still have the soccer ball match up visually. Hope this makes sense.
