Help with creating a logo

Hi. I've got our school logo and I'd like to change it from reading Fidalgo Falcons to Fidalgo PTA. I've tried and tried to do this through inkscape and Gimp but I just can't seem to figure out the path/text stuff. Is there anyone here that can do this for me?? The text does not have to be the same as the one used for the falcon one.
