Inkscape question

I keep reading about this on this MB. Do I have to have another program to run inkscape? I haven't tried downloading yet because I don't have Illustrator or coreldraw. If I need something like that how much would a program cost?

no, you don't need another program to use it.
inkscape is a free download & you can design in it & save your files as svg files. you can open svg files in SCA & cut them on your cricut.
