Here are my first 2 projects using vinyl

Post by dublin2 »

My aunt recently moved into the apartment above me and her kitchen is pretty big. She wants to do the kitchen decor in the 50"s style using Coca Cola as the theme. I was looking around and saw the white fan she bought still in the box. I thought.......that's it....I'll do the fan blades with the Coca Cola font. When I mentioned it both my mother and my aunt thought that it was a great idea. It is my housewaarming gift to her if you will :) Then i came up with the song............"I'd like to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony, I'd like to buy the world a coke and keep it company........it's the real thing"! I'm going to cut out the song in the Coca Cola font and put it along the wall from one end of the room to the other! (That's my next project) :)
My second project was for my Mom for Mother's Day. She's a big Clark Gable/Gone With The Wind fan and one of THE hardest people to buy for so I figured that this year I would make her gift. I have been wanting to try my hand at making glass blocks. So with a little help from a YouTube video and the svgs from SCAL (A Huge Thank You to whomever shared these files with me....I am sooo sorry I don't know who it was) I have uploaded the photos of both these projects. I hope you like them! (and I download these right!)

Here is the other side of the glass block. The only difference that I used with my mother's block is that I put transparent vinyl on the glass before I put the vinyl cutout down so I could "hide" the light cord.

Wonderful job, they look very nice and I love the glass block! I'm sure your mom loved it. I believe that Gone with the Wind svg is from our wonderful Paulo (if I am incorrect, please forgive me)!
