Yes I know what you are saying.

There is no getting away from it is an expensive purchase and for many people it will be very hard to justify splashing out that much money.

There is no good cutter/ bad cutter divide, if an original Craft Robo does everything someone wants then for them it is a great cutter, I wanted a cutter where the limitation is my ability not the cutter so for me the cougar (and now soon to be the Silver Bullet) was the best choice.

I always tell people who contact me and ask about cutters to join the support forum and ask as many questions as possible, buying one of these machines is not something to do on a whim, people need to be absolutely sure it is what they want and need before parting with quite a significant sum of money. Many do go on to buy, and so far I have only come across 3 people in nearly 3 years who have regretted it, and two of those never bothered to ask for help before deciding they could not get it to do what they wanted.

Can this forum remain about the software and not a platform for one specific cutting machine?

This board is entitled "Cutter Reviews"

I wonder how you interpret that to mean it should be about software only?

I also wonder how you figure that this forum is only about one specific cutting machine, if you look at the rest of the many, many topics in this board - viewforum.php?f=85 - which is specifically for cutter reviews you will find exactly ONE referencing this new cutter :?

Also If you care to take a look at the active topics - search.php?search_id=active_topics - you will see that there are in fact many, many other things being discussed than this new cutter :?

Maybe you are just jealous because you do not have one and so don't want anyone else to know about it ;)

I should point out that the above comment is by me personally, I am not in any way affiliated with the new cutter nor do I have any connection with those that sell them other than I have bought a Cougar from them and received a fantastic level of after sales service.

Therefore my comment..

Is how I see the matter, it is my personal view. I made that comment because looking at the facts as detailed in my post above it seems to me the only logical explanation for the objections made in the OP - However I am only human, and so I may have misunderstood the intention.

If the OP would like to discuss the reason for their post in more detail and explain why they made what I saw as an inaccurate generalisation of the situation I will be more than happy to discuss the issue via private messaging and alter my response accordingly in light of further information ;)

My two cents worth.

I don't believe that you can separate the software from the cutter. Todd (CraftEdge) has made every effort to support as many cutters as he can with his software and the result is sometimes there are problems (bugs) because of the cutter interface. It is the same with Mac vs Win. Lots of times the issues come up in one vs of WIN that does not come up with Mac or other vs of Win.

So let's keep the angst out of the discussions please.

Thank you.

A new owner of a Silver Bullet actually posted pictures on the Cougar forum hours after receiving her machine, granted she did have a cougar, but the cuts were awesome.

Still waiting for them to arrive in the UK, mumble, grumble, grumble..

I cant wait to give it some card to chew on, I have a stack of European A2 sheets of 350gsm card sat waiting for a machine, if it takes much longer I will end up putting it in the Cougar and have nothing left but copier paper when the SB arrives LOLOL

Personally I appreciate reading all the comments about the various cutters... I've been doing research on my own but when it comes right down to it, I want to hear from the users!!

With that said...waiting to hear from the folks that forked out the cash for that silver bullet before I finally make the purchase...........

I just received my Silver Bullet yesterday and love it , it is so quiet and fast. I had a harder time folding the items than anything it cut so smooth. i cut these with the click blade holder on 1 force of 94 and speed of 600 and these are cut of card stock. everyones force may be different as we each set the blade slightly different.
