When i try to attach it, it says extention no allowed. I am just not cut out for this. I tried to make a new card and save it to a new folder. When I open it the outer border is not there and i know that I have done object to path before I added to the card.

ssure wish I could help you out. What you might do is go back to the basic tutorials and start fresh. Was it a font or a graphic?
here is what I do in Inkscape if it is a graphic. Though some I have noticed do it different, here's what works for me.
Hope it helps.
Inkscape Before I start the one thing to remember is use the select tool on all steps.

1. File then go to Import (this will allow you to find your graphic) choose it hit open
2. Edit and choose make a bmp (little cute camera) at this point there will two images ontop of each other. drag the top one off to the side and delete the bottom one.
3. View and then display mode and a information box pops up and choose outline. Don't panic you image will go away and a big red X will be there
4. Path then choose trace bitmap. You will have a window that will pop up and should show you image in a small box for now just choose update, later you will use these to tweek colored images and few other things but for now just hit update.
You will now have a layered image on you mate and just x out of the balloon box. It's not needed for the next step
5. This is where most do it different then I do. I usually don't ungroup, I choose break apart and there will be layers to pull apart and group such as background, shirt, pants lets, handsface etc. If you watch Dan99's last video in the tutorials he has one great one about working with colored images.
6. After you get them grouped on the mat in the way you want them to cut, then save as in a folder of your liking

If you will private message me with your email I will send you a put together svg and one taken apart so you can see what I mean.
