Registration Mark not printing

When I bring the image in either as a jpeg or png it has a box around it, I have tried lowering the detail but it is still there so when I put a shadow around it, it traces the box Can anyone help me, I must be doing something wrong? Thanks.

Please post the picture files you are having trouble getting an outline on and someone will take a look.

I am guessing the shadow layer is applied to a trace of the image not the image its self.

Not watched the video myself so that is an assumption

After the trace is on your mat, Edit and Select All, Object and Break Apart and remove the outside square or rectangle. You can then take what is left for your outline, or remove more unnecessary bits if needed by clicking on them and hit delete on your keyboard.

Maybe this is the trouble...not sure without the images.
