help removing a box around an image??

I have this image that I traced and seems like it will cut great but I really didn't want the box around the letter T, does someone know how to tell me or can help me by removing the outside box? and making the T the svg, just the red with blue shadow part, thanks

Just put a box around everything and go to Object and Ungroup and click on the box and use the delete on your keyboard.

thanks, but that didn't work, i have never been able to figure out what the ungroup feature does, when doing how you said it deletes the entire thing?? surely i am not doing something right here, are there any video tutorials for ungrouping with SCAL 2?

here it is with out the black box. I did forget to mention there are three colors there the white you can't see in the image but there is that layer plus the blue and red.

did a trace in inkscape and then broke apart the trace of the image and got rid of the square
