help, importing and ungrouping svgs
help, importing and ungrouping svgs
I am new and have been searching for svg's to include in my collection. I have found great artwork from crafters that are so generous to share. My problem is that many of the svg's are not created in layers. When I import I get the entire svg with no layers. I do know how to ungroup in SCAL 2 but I am confused as to how I can put the individual pieces on their own layers for easier cutting and filing. Not sure if I am explaining my question very well but would appreciate if anyone could point my in the direction of a tutorial to help.

Re: help, importing and ungrouping svgs
If you are using the recent versions of SCAL2, anything in an svg that hasn't been combined into one Path will be on it's own layer in a group folder.
If the pieces have been combined or unioned, you will need to use Break apart. Then you can use Object/Group or Object/Merge to keep any pieces together that you want on the same layer. HTH
