Yes, tried the original cable....nothing. I also called and left a voicemail at Sizzix. I am pretty upset. When I had gotten the replacement cable I had thought it was in response to my email about the software freezing and not recognizing the machine. LOL, obviously it wasn't, which means I never got a reply to my email, other than how do I have the machine hooked up. So after explaining that I've hooked the machine up exactly as instructed..... no response.
Sigh, I'm sure it's just me, but I really, really regret ever spending the money to get this machine.
New Cables Coming in Mail for eclips?
Re: New Cables Coming in Mail for eclips?
I usually have only heard good comments about their CS...so maybe try again...perhaps something got lost in the communication.
My pictures and files are available for a limited time only.

They seem to respond better with emails as they track them. Voice mails do get lost in the shuffle. Try an email again.

Re: New Cables Coming in Mail for eclips?
Here are a couple of things to check that I know have caused me problems in the past:
1. If you are using a laptop, check the power settings. My laptop came with power settings that automatically turned off USB ports if it thought that they weren't being used.
2. Make sure that your virus/protection software isn't running updates while you are trying to cut.
If you have Windows 7 you could also try running it in XP compatibility mode and run as administrator. SCAL2 required that (at least in the early stages) though I haven't needed to do that with eCAL. HTH

Thanks girls, have been communicating with Sizzix. Sadly they say it's a corrupted driver, however uninstalling and deleting the USB Root Hub as instructed then re-installing the software did not solve the problem.
I can't do anything. So frustrating.... plus I work full time so by the time I get home and do what they suggest, I have to wait until the next day for any replies.

If this sport of ours were not so addictive...it would be different...but we just WANT IT TO WORK...that is how it should go, and it does not sometimes.
Well, at least you are making progress, and I believe you are in good hands with that CS. Good luck!

Hi Ladies,
A week of communicating back and forth with Sizzix CS and still no solution - still not cutting, software freezes up. You gals have no idea how many times I've uninstalled, reinstalled and updated - even video taped it and send it in. The instructions I was send about uninstalled the drivers didn't work, (I'm using XP) because everytime I reinstall, it tells me driver package is already installed.
However, I can't get any help other than the "uninstall, reinstall, update". How many times do I have to do that before they realize that that will not solve the problem. Especially since I've had issues with the software freezing from the beginning (although I could usually get it to cut after restarting my pc several times).
I have not clue as to my next step with Sizzix. The rep is really nice, but I really want a solution. I have cut files and no way to cut them. I have to say that it's gotten to the point that I don't even want to step into my craft room, sigh!
Anyway, thanks for letting me vent. You know it always happens to me right before Christmas - 2 years ago as I was getting ready to do some major Christmas Presents Photo editing, my motherboard went out, the year before that the graphics card...... I'm starting to think that the Christmas Elves don't like me very much, lo.

XP is such an old OS...maybe that has something to do with it all.

Re: New Cables Coming in Mail for eclips?
I thought so too, but it had worked with my Cricut and SCAL 2.0 and until the update and new cable, I could get it to work with eCAL. I did load it on my hubbys laptop and same issue.
Re: New Cables Coming in Mail for eclips?
Everytime you would reinstall, you would have to be sure it is all activated, again....just another point at which if not done it could cause problems. Just not sure what to tell people who are having troubles...sometimes it is the machine, the computer, or operator error...and it gets so darn confusing when trying to troubleshoot...I have been through similar, and it is a pain!!!
