New Cables Coming in Mail for eclips?

Yesterday I received a new usb cable for my eclips from Ellison. I was planning to call tomorrow to return it to them because I thought they sent one to me by accident, but my friend who lives in another State also received a new usb cable in the mail from Ellison yesterday. The new cable has double usb ends and one is labeled 'computer' and the other is labeled for the hand held remote. Does anyone know why these new cables are being delivered to owners of the eclips? I looked on Sizzix and on Ellison websites and there are no announcements that I could find. There is only a sheet of paper included that says not to use the computer end and the remote end at the same time.

No one else has mentioned this here...maybe you could call tomorrow to find out the answer and let us know, as maybe you are the first to receive...you and your friend.

Yes, planning to call tomorrow and will post an update if I find out the reason for the cables.

No need to call. If you read the very last line on the paper it tells you to replace the cords you got with the machine and to replace with these new ones. Lots of us are getting them.

Lol! Too late, I called first thing this morning and I did read the entire paper that came with the cable . They must have sent out different sheets with the new cable because my sheet says no where on it to replace the old cable with the new cable. It just says not to use the remote USB and the computer USB at the same time and shows a diagram for connecting the new cable. Plus, I wanted to find out 'why' they were sending out new cables. There are issues that have occurred with the old cable from switching it back and forth between the remote and ecal, so they covered the problem with the one cable so there are no more issues.

Thank you for writing. The Y Cable is used to stabilize the voltage between the Eclips Machine and your computer. It was not due to any issue; we just have an updated cable. We are working from a database, these will be sent to all of our Eclips customers.

Hi, I also received the cable, however, now I can't get eCAL to cut at all. I've had issues where the software would freeze/not recognize the eclipse but now I can't get it to cut no matter what I try.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I am so very, very sorry I purchased this machine. I've had these issues from the begining but eventually the software would "see" the machine and cut. Sigh, I've just waisted 90 minutes restarting PC, etc.....will not print. I obviously can't finish my project today and I could just scream.

Any suggestions would be so appreciated.

PS: I've already emailed Sizzix CS.

I haven't tried my new cables yet. Have you tried going back to the original one and see if it cuts? I'll do mine today and let you know if my eclips works with the new ones.
