I've used this technique to save my mats and I'm sure you could use it to make your own mats. You just put tape around the edge where you don't want it to be tacky, then you get the all purpose sprey can crafting glue and you sprey a light coat of glue on the mat and let it sit for at least 5 min. Todd, I couldn't agree more. I find it hard to have to resize all my pieces that are imported so I end up cutting all the pieces from every color and end up with a lot of un needed pieces just to keep my cuts sized correctly. p.s. you are going to want to overlap to make sure they are sized right because when I imported into scut to check the cut lines they weren't proportional. Once you have them sized correctly then delete the one you aren't cutting.

I just created this happy penguin. It is 3 files because I am planning on doing pieces(black, white, orange). My hubby loves penguin and I'm making a card with a penguin for that reason. I'll post a pic after it is made.
