Need clarification regarding CDS updates.

Hi Ladies, I have been away for a few weeks and so I can't find the answer on the MB, but need some clarification, I have bought the pooh cartridge but to date have not updated CDS as I was worried it will scramble SCAL. I would like to update the cartridge list without loosing my ability to use SCAL, is there a way around updating the cartridge list without doing a full reinstall. My CDS program has always cut really well so I don't want to rock the boat. Any advice?

I have version 1.0.20211.0 of DS on my computer which show the newer carts. I have been able to use SCA.

there is a way to do it and the answer is on this MB some place I did it and have all the new carts but still the first version

I'm bumping this to the top b/c I'm absolutely terrified to update my firmware. DH gave me the Pooh and HOme Accent cartridges as gifts. I would love to use them in DS, but I'm scared it will mess up my SCAL somehow.
Do I would love the exact steps anyone has taken to update successfully.

Don't be afraid. I updated and had no problem. I can see all the carts now.

You can update the DSS software without updating firmware. The software will not affect the SCAL software.

I want to purchase SCAL. I have Windows XP. I have the Expression with 1.0.20211.0 version running. Can I just purchase SCAL and not have problems? There have been so many posts with concerns and problems. Do I need to go back to an earlier version of DS to avoid problems.
