Are you downloading different fonts from the internet? SCAL has a bunch already. See this post:

There was another thread about storing fonts and where to store them and how to open the to work in SCAL

Yes I'm downloading fonts from the internet and most of them are ZIP files. How do I change them to file type that works with SCAL? I have lots of fonts but I'm looking for more:) and dingbats too. Thanks for the help. beth

Hi (new here too) - the fonts should be downloaded to your computer as .ttf files where the name of the font preceeds the .ttf. Then install the fonts on your computer. How you do this depends on whether you are using windows or mac and what operating system you are using. After you install the fonts you should be able to use them in SCAL... I hope this helps - I don't have my cricut yet - it is in the mail but I have been playing with the SCAL software.

Scrappy Dew has a video on how to use fonts without installing them, and how to install them.

I just watched this video and I was surprised at how he installs fonts. Once I have the font down-loaded, I right click on it and select the option install.
