can you delete

Hello:
This is my first post here. I just received my scal and having fun with it. I can't find a way to remove a mistake. In word if you misspell a word you just back space. I can't find it in help and I did a search here which didn't answer my question. Do you have to start the whole project over if you make a mistake.
